I just saw that we get 15gb for €5 at hey!. Is this the same network as orange? Can I 'switch' to Hey and keep my orange number?
If it is operated by the same company, why isn't there 1 company with Hey prices?
Orange is the mother company of HEY TELECOM. If you switch, you even keep your current SIM card. But please remind that the customer support nor the Orange shops can help you with troubleshooting if necessary. Hey! only provides support over chat.
As for the prices. That's marketing. Every big company has a budget provider. Proximus has Scarlet and Mobile Vikings. Telenet has BASE. Orange has Hey!.
Not quite correct. Orange is not the mother company since there's only one company and that's Orange Belgium. Hey is just a brand.
Other operators also have multiple brands (eg Scarlet) or have daughter companies (eg Mobile Vikings)
HEY BELGIUM is a trade name of Orange Belgium, which is why they even share the same customer systems.
However, since HEY has its own VAT number and business registration, it is not just a sub-brand—it is also a brand in its own right. It operates within the Orange Belgium network and, by extension, under the larger Orange Group (the French parent company).
When we refer to a parent company, we mean a company that owns subsidiaries with separate VAT numbers and business registrations but ultimately falls under a larger corporate structure for management and strategic oversight.
Many companies operate this way to protect their subsidiaries in case financial or operational issues arise.
you can keep your phone number. If you change to Hey or anything else you don’t need to take a new phone number.
